The New Jersey State Board of Education has begun the process of adopting the Professional Standards for Educational Leaders, released by the National Policy Board (formerly ISLLC) in October 2015. The adoption will likely impact our practice in the following ways:
1. NJASA and NJSBA are currently collaborating to revise the NJSBA Superintendent Evaluation Model to reflect these new standards;
2. NJASA and NJPSA are currently collaborating to design a self-reflection and growth tool based on these new standards;
3. NJASA and NJPSA professional learning experiences are being built upon the foundations of these new standards; and
4. NJDOE will likely ask testing vendors to review and revise the certification evaluations instruments used to issue Certificates of Eligibility for school and district leadership positions.
