With a handshake and a wave, Manno, 45, described the honor as a “humbling experience.”
“There are so many outstanding superintendents in this state, many who have been my mentors, friends and colleagues,” said Manno. “When dealing with issues or challenges, I’ve reached out to talk to them and they have been my sounding board, so it is certainly humbling to represent them.”
Manno has served as superintendent of the Burlington Township School District since 2005. On Wednesday night he hugged and reminisced with old friends.
