NJASA Legal Publications Program Provides a Deep-Dive
into Laws and Regulations Addressing the Covid-19 Pandemic
As the new school year starts amid a pandemic, it is important to remind NJASA members that all active regular NJASA members have access to three experienced attorneys in the NJASA Legal Department for assistance with any questions and concerns that may arise. In addition, the NJASA Legal Department publishes the Legal Research Publications Program which is a subscription service, and which provides a comprehensive look into emerging and important legal issues affecting school administration.
Beginning in July 2020, the Legal Research Publications began two comprehensive series on emerging issues related to the Covid-19 public health emergency. July 2020 and August 2020 editions brought members a review of the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA). This two-part series explored requirements to provide emergency paid sick leave to employees, documentation and recordkeeping requirements, and the expansion of the Family and Medical Leave Act.
In addition, the September 2020 and October 2020 editions of the Legal Research Publications Program will address the New Jersey leave laws and Covid-19. This two-part series addresses amendments to New Jersey’s Family Leave Act, the amended Paid Family Leave Law, as well as the Earned Sick Leave Act.
Subscribers to the NJASA Legal Publications Program will automatically receive all of these Administrative Guides. Members who are not currently subscribing to the program, but who wish to receive these Administrative Guides, are urged to subscribe today!
