NaviGate Prepared Brings School Safety Software Platform to New Jersey Schools
Partnership with New Jersey Association of School Administrators (NJASA) Helps Pave the Way
NEW PHILADELPHIA, Ohio – September 19, 2016 – The New Jersey Association of School Administrators (NJASA) and NaviGate Prepared are partnering to bring the leading school safety software to New Jersey schools in an effort to help districts uphold the New Jersey Administrative Code 6A:16-5.1 School Safety and Security Plans requiring each school district to have a school safety and security plan that meets the minimum state requirements.
Designed to assist school administrators with safety plan development and enhancement, the NaviGate Prepared Safety Plan Wizard breaks down a safety plan into a series of questions, thus reducing complexities and streamlining creation of a school safety plan. The Wizard is powered by the NaviGate Prepared emergency preparedness safety system, which is currently used by hundreds of school districts throughout the nation to help improve school safety.
“School safety is critical and needs focus. Administrators shouldn’t have to spend their time deciphering legal jargon or reinventing the wheel,” states Thom Jones, general manager, NaviGate Prepared. “Our Safety Plan Wizard takes the information administrators already know and guides them through the development of a sound plan based on school safety best practices. We want to make it as easy as possible for schools to implement these requirements.”
The complete NaviGate Prepared system includes the ability to organize and store safety information to share with staff and first responders, log and track safety drills and interactive floor plans. Additionally, the NaviGate Prepared app offers staff immediate access to emergency procedures and the ability to instantly view building and class roster information that is synced with the school's Student Information System (SIS). This gives teachers the ability to account for students, by name, during drills or emergencies. Knowing exactly who is unaccounted for gives administrators and first responders valuable information and streamlines emergency efforts.
“Our organization appreciates the extent to which NaviGate Prepared is helping schools accomplish their objectives when it comes to safety and emergency preparedness,” states Dr. Richard Bozza, executive director, NJASA. “By offering the tools and services to generate safety plans, connect with first responders and provide school staff powerful safety apps, our community is better prepared in case of emergency.”
